I love that we were able to find each other at such a young age too. There's just something about the phrase "High School Sweethearts" that makes me feel giddy inside. I can't wait to live my life with him by my side. People think it's crazy that I'm "so young" and already know that I want to be with Matt, but I knew a long time ago. It's just right.
On the day of our anniversary, Matt surprised me and took us to get pedicures! (I had been begging him to go with me and he never would) We opted for the "Deluxe Spa" package since it was a special day and I'm not going to lie, Matt LOVED it! He said if they weren't so expensive - he'd go everyday! It was funny to see him get a pedicure though, because anyone that knows Matt knows how ticklish he is! It was a fun experience for us to do together and we both came out with pretty feet!
Later that night, we went to dinner at "Bahama Breeze", which is my absolute favorite restaurant! It's a little bit of a drive (it's on I-drive), but it's worth it for us! The atmosphere is so "beachy" - complete with palm trees and live music! Plus, the food & service is always great!
The following weekend we were also able to go to Epcot. We poor college kids wouldn't normally, but were able to thanks to Matt's mom & Mike. The whole time I was saying, "It's like we're traveling the world together!". I loved the countries - hopefully one day we really will "travel the world together"! Matt's favorite thing (and it is so him) was Mission: Space which was like going on a trip to Mars - G-forces and all! I guess it makes sense for an Aerospace Engineer major! I'm not sure we'll be traveling the Universe together though ;-) It was really great for us to be able to get away for the day and do something fun that we wouldn't normally be able to do.
Over all, we had a great time celebrating our relationship, and I am so thankful to have a guy that treats me like a princess!
Speaking of relationships & celebrations, my cousin, Rachel, is getting married in 2 weeks! I can't believe it! She's about 6 months older than I am and she and her hubby-to-be have been dating 2 months shy of Matt and I (although they've known each other much longer!) My sister, Amy, and I are bridesmaids in her wedding and I'm so excited! Although a little worried since I'll be missing the rehearsal dinner! The wedding is in north Georgia, and Matt and I will be driving straight there from Orlando when Matt gets out of his midterm the day before! We won't arrive until late that Friday night! But i know everything will be fine - I just want her to have the most amazing day! :-)
And speaking of 2 weeks from now, Matt will be turning 20 on November 11! It always sneaks up on me! I always tease him, because we celebrate our anniversary in September, his birthday in November, and by the time Christmas gets here, I'm completely out of gift ideas! Hopefully I can find something fun for us to do since we won't be able to be with family on his birthday (we have class on Monday, but not on Tuesday - what's up with that!?) We'll find time to celebrate with family for sure though, especially since Katie Babie's birthday is the following week!
He actually helped me out this year with the gift ideas though, because last night he gave me a very detailed list (haha! i guess there are several things he really wants!) He even organized them into groups of importance and labeled them from the most wanted to least wanted (at my request, of course) haha! So now, I just have to choose - and still find something to fulfill the element of surprise! :-)
Speaking of surprises, and not so good ones, Matt broke his finger about on Monday night playing dodge ball. It's actually just a little piece of bone that chipped off, but of course, it's the part where the tendon is attached! So he can't lift the tip of his finger. They thought he might have to have surgery to get it re-attached, but instead they're putting him in a splint that keeps his finger slightly elevated for 6 weeks! As long as he doesn't let it relax, it should heal just fine - otherwise, he'll have to start over. He has a doctor's appt in 3 weeks to have x-rays taken to make sure it is healing correctly. Somehow, he always manages to get hurt! I'm sure his mom can tell you all about that! ;-)
